2014 is right around the corner. And with a new year comes New Year’s resolutions. Over 50% of us will be making at least one resolution and weight loss tops the list almost every year.  So how do you end up avoiding being part of the 81% of us that fail within 24 months?

The 1-2 Knockout Punch for New Year’s Resolutions

  1. Make a clear, concrete goal. If your resolution is to lose weight, you’re destined to fail because it’s too vague. What’s the finish line? 10 pounds, 20 pounds, 100 pounds? Make sure you specifically state your finish line. And better yet, make your goal progress-based instead of results-based. Losing 10lbs by February 1st is a great specific goal, but it’s results-based. A better goal would be to exercise 16 days per month in January.
  2. Have a map. If you can’t gauge your progress, how do you know if you’re on the right track? If losing 10 pounds by February 1st is your resolution, you’ll need to lose 2.5lbs per week. So your “map” would be weighing yourself every Friday morning to make sure you’re on the right path.

New Class Descriptions

CoEd Cardio Boxing

If you’re stressed and want a good sweat,  strap on the boxing gloves because this class is for you. You’ll move from punching the heavy bag to jumping rope to performing push-ups, chin-ups, and planks.  It’s all about burning as many calories as possible. Losing weight cannot get more enjoyable than this class.

Total Body Spin

If you love spin and/or our bootcamps, you’ll love Total Body Spin. You’ll hop on the spin bikes and sprint, hover, and climb your way to a healthier you. Then you’ll hop off of your bikes and use our TRX trainers to burn even more calories as you perform a handful of different total body exercises. Trust us, you won’t be bored!

Yoga

If you prefer something a little less “rambunctious”  yet still challenging, then you’ll enjoy our new Yoga class. We’ve had requests for this class for over 6 months, and we’ve finally found a teacher we love.  Find your inner peace, and you also find a smaller waist.

GloKick for Kids

GloKick has become so popular that we decided to offer a GloKick for kids. If your child is in 3rd-6th grade and loves to dance, this class is designed for them.  High energy, lots of laughs, and even a few dance moves. It’s guaranteed to be a GREAT time.

1-on-1 and Small Group Training

If you’re serious about weight loss and want a program designed specifically for you,  we’re your team.  Our credentials and testimonials speak for themselves.  We offer 1-on-1 and small group (4-on-1) training sessions for as little as $12 per session. Not only will you get the results you want, but you’ll enjoy the experience. Do NOT be intimidated.  We’re not drill sergeants. We’re training partners. We’re here to motivate you, not make you hate exercise. If you don’t reach your goal, we don’t reach our goal.
