One-on-One and Small Group Training: Your 3 Biggest Fears Answered

small group training at Ageless

It’s been almost 2 weeks since we’ve started one-on-one and small group training at Ageless, and the response thus far has been overwhelming. Each day we seem to add another client or two and our current clients continue to add more training sessions. Our schedule is quickly filling up for October. All 4 of our trainers have been called up to help.

Because of the popularity of our training, we’ve had a boatload of opportunities to get inside the heads of our clients and determine what their 3 biggest fears were before they started training.  We assumed addressing those concerns BEFORE new clients starting training would really reduce the anxiety associated with starting something new and make the training experience more enjoyable. And here’s what they told us:

1. I’m too out of shape to exercise. I’m hopeless.

You’re never too old or too out of shape to be young again. That’s why you’re ageless.  We have regressions for every exercise we use. When we first opened our gym, we had a lady lose over 60lbs. Do you know how she started exercising? Walking on the treadmill everyday for 10-20 minutes drinking a Coke. Yes, a Coke. Within a few months, she was walking for over an hour on the treadmill. Eventually she was lifting weights, and the weight was still coming off. Trust us, the hardest part of exercising is showing up. Habits are hard. Exercising is not.

2. I don’t want to be yelled. I already hate exercise. I’m just going to hate it more with a drill sergeant staring at me yelling one more repetition.

Take a look at our team pictures. Do we honestly look intimidating? Our most intense staff member is Reggie, a soccer mom with 4 kids. We’re not here to break you down. We’re here to build you up. Exercise is supposed to be fun, yet challenging. You should sweat. You should smile. Most importantly, you should laugh. YOU determine how hard to push yourself. YOU determine what exercises you can and can’t do. We’re not there to make you look dumb or feel inadequate.  We’re simply guides. We’re like that favorite teacher you had in high school – enlightening, entertaining, and motivating.

3. It costs too much.

This is a legitimate concern. Unfortunately, we can’t fix this.  Some people just won’t be able to afford our one-on-one and small group training. That’s why we offer free bootcamp classes everyday.

We do try to make it as affordable as possible though for those that can. When we were evaluating our pricing strategy, we looked at what gyms in the area were charging. We decided to price our one-on-one and small group sessions well below the area average even though the quality of our training is top notch.

We also tried to make  comparisons to everyday purchases most people make. When you consider people spend $4 on a single cup of coffee, $10 on a fast food meal, or tip a waitress for meal that lasted 20 minutes $5, $12 for one 60 minute small group training session with a professional trainer doesn’t sound like such an expensive purchase. Plus, we don’t consider it a purchase. We look at it as an investment in your health. What you’ll spend in exercise now will save you much, much more down the road.

And if you still don’t know if you can make the investment, we offer a full 100% refund. No hassle. No questions. The only stipulation is you have to train at least 3 times and must make the decision by the start of the 4th workout.
