B2 Class on Friday Nights: What do you think?

family bootcamp at Ageless

We had the monthly meeting of the minds this past weekend at Ageless, and once again, ideas were churning. Although the majority of the meeting was focused on the upcoming Spin-A-Thon, we did toss around some ideas regarding the B2 class on Friday evenings. Here’s what we confirmed:

  • The B2 class will be moved up on Fridays to 7:00pm.
  • You do NOT have to be a couple to attend. Friends, best friends, random people off the street.. It really doesn’t matter as long as you come with a partner.

Here’s where we need your help. We tossed around the idea of making this a family event, as well as making it outdoors. Essentially, we’d have the bootcamp at a park. It would only last 45 minutes. Kids can participate with their parents, even if they’re in a stroller, or they can play on the playground. Afterwards, if the park has a grill, we can grill hot dogs and have a small social event until it gets dark.

The downsides:

  • Some parents use bootcamps to get away from their kids. Although members without kids can still enjoy a fun, outdoor workout, kids always add a little chaos to the mix.
  • If it rains, it’s cancelled. Both gyms are too small to safely hold a bootcamp for adults and children.
  • Big Brick Park in Gillespie would be an ideal location. However, we’re unsure of a location in Staunton. We’d like to alternate the location each workout.
  • We will not have a babysitter there. You will be in charge of watching your own children unless a few members decide just to come hang out, and monitor the playground.

If this isn’t a popular idea, we can always just do what we originally were going to do – an adults-only, indoor partner bootcamp.
