It’s time to raid your grandma’s closet and find the ugliest Christmas sweater you can. I personally recommend a nice ugly wool one – warm yet intoxicatingly hideous. And if it smells like moth balls, all the merrier. The 5k race and the 1 mile fun run begin at 9am on December 7th at Ageless.
Santa, in preparation for his big night on Christmas Eve, will be running in the 1 mile fun. Kids, take it easy on him. He’s slightly overweight, only works 1 day out of the year, and might be diabetic. Plus, he’s 200+ years old. If he makes it through the race, he’ll be available for pictures afterwards.
And just to make sure you’re really in the Christmas spirit, we may even have some carolers along the route serenading you with your favorite Christmas tunes. We’ll also be serving free hot chocolate and candy canes before and after the race.
And the real reason for the season
We can’t mention Christmas without talking about the real reason for the season – helping others. The proceeds will be donated to the Joyful Angels, a program that purchases Christmas presents for families in need in our area. We also encourage all participants to bring a new toy with them to be donated to the Joyful Angels.
