Speed kills.
Literally.
Speed can be the difference between a win and a loss. It’s often what separates the good players from the really great players. It’s a difference maker. A game changer. Everyone wants more of it.
But, can you really turn a turtle into a hare? Is speed dictated by your genetics?
Yes.. and no.
You can’t turn a kid that runs a 100m dash in 19 seconds into an Olympic caliber sprinter. However, with the right training and technique, you can turn him/her into a high school all-star.
You can teach him/her things like:
- How proper arm position during the sprint can instantly make an athlete faster.
- Why the agility ladder is a waste of time if you’re trying to get faster on the field.
- The difference between a push and pull during the sprint, and why one is vastly superior to the other.
- How anti-rotation and anti-flexion core exercises translate into more speed on the field.
- The proper crossover step form to improve basepath speed.
- Why proper speed training is also good injury prevention training.
- The resistance training exercises that improve speed the most.
And that’s exactly what we aim to do.
Starting on November 5th, we’re going to be offering a speed and agility training camp for baseball, softball, and soccer athletes.
Using our 3 P training formula (position, pattern, and power) originating from the training we’ve done with EXOS, we’re going to take the athletes through a 60-minute speed workout consisting of technique drills, speed drills, and power drills that are specifically designed to get athletes faster and more agile on the field.
The Details:
Where: Ageless in Gillespie
When: Mondays, November 5th – 26th (4 one hour sessions)
Who: 5th -7th grade boys and girls 6pm-7pm,
8th grade -high school boys and girls 7pm – 8pm
Cost: $20
Instructor: T. J
Misc: Each session will be limited to 8 athletes. Spots are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Athletes in the current session will be given priority in all future speed training camps.
