We are proud to announce that Sharon Wernle is our Member of the Month for February. Sharon has been deserving of this recognition for a long time. She has been with Ageless since our beginning.
Sharon is the type of person that everyone wants to be around. She always brings a smile to our faces and brightens our day when she walks through the doors. (And we know not to start bootcamp until she gets there.)
“When you think about quitting, think about why you started.”
As a parent, Sharon sets a fantastic example for her daughters, Tori and Stephy, to follow. She is a hard worker who always seems to make time for her family and for her fitness. At our gym our members think of each other as a big, extended family that offers both support and accountability. We definitely think of Sharon as a great member of our Ageless family.
We asked Sharon a few questions about her fitness and workout routine. These are her responses:
What got you interested in fitness?
I became interested in fitness when Ageless was first opened. I needed a way to loose weight and get moving.
How do you find/make time to get your workouts in?
I am a morning person. I am up around 5am every morning. I try to get my house work and laundry done in the morning before work. I make the time in the evenings after work. I get home around 5pm, eat a light dinner, feed my dogs, cats, and horse then go to the gym. I do my school work when I get home from the gym.
What tip(s) would you offer someone who is just starting out?
My tip to get started is to just do it and don’t stop. Try not to skip days, even when you are sore or tired. Once you get into a routine, you will miss it if you don’t go. (And keep big bottle of Tylenol for after the first few workouts.) The key is to stay with it. It is going to be rough at the beginning, but the more you do it the better you feel.
“Success doesn’t happen overnight. Just keep you eye on the prize, and don’t look back!”
What is your current workout routine?
Right now, I work out about 5 days a week during the classes offered at the gym. I do Bootcamp, Spinning, and Glokick. I prefer the classes to keep me motivated. I enjoy working out with my friends in a group setting.
In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of exercising?
The biggest benefit of exercising, for me, is stress relief. My job can be very stressful some days, and exercise seems to relieve some of that stress. Steph, my daughter, says that I am not as cranky when I exercise. She won’t let me quit.
Have you seen good results? If so could you go into detail about them?
I have seen fantastic results. I have lost inches. The last time I checked I lost a total of about 25 inches all over my body since I first started exercising. I am stronger and more flexible. I have more energy and stamina. I don’t think that I could keep up with 20, seven year olds everyday in my classroom if I didn’t exercise. I can actually say that I feel better now at 50 than I did when I was 40!
“Stop making up excuses. Stop saying you’ll do it tomorrow. Stop believing it will happen by itself. Begin working out today. Begin eating healthy today. Begin to change your life now. DO IT TODAY AND BE PROUD OF TOMORROW.”
Keep up the good work Sharon. We are proud of you.
