The 3500 Challenge Details

  • When

    Starts September 15th. Must register by September 8th.

  • Who

    Each team of 3 will consist of Ageless and Ageless Squared members.

  • Prizes

    2 prizes awarded – 1)  A dining gift certificate for the team that has the highest class attendance. 2) A $100 gift certificate for Dick’s Sporting Goods to a randomly drawn participant that loses at least 10 lbs.

Theoretically it takes a 3,500 calorie deficit to lose 1 pound of fat.  This 56 day challenge is designed to help you create that 3,500 calorie deficit so at the end of each week, the scale drops at least one pound. With a daily class and a few diet modifications, we'll create a daily deficit of 500-700 calories, and we'll be well on our way to a glorious transformation.

    Get your team of 3 registered by September 8th.

    We'll have forms at the front desk starting next week. You'll also get a form e-mailed to you if you sign up for the newsletter at the top of the page. Don't have a team of 3? No worries. Sign up anyways. We know we'll have a lot of teams looking for extra members.

    Weigh yourself.

    Here are the rule for the individual prize, the $100 Dick's Sporting Goods gift certificate: 1) Weigh yourself the day before the contest starts, September 14th. 2) Weigh yourself weekly or at the very end of the contest. We must have your final weight loss by the end of the 57th day. 3) For every 10 pounds you lose, your name will be added to the drawing for the gift card. Thus, the more weight you lose, the better chance you have to win.
    *We will use the honor system when recording the weight loss. YOU will be the only one that knows your before and after weight. We just need to know how many pounds were lost. You do not have to participate in this part of the contest if you don't want to.

    Attend at least 5 classes per week.

    We'll have a sign up form in each class. Make sure you sign the form before you leave the class. We'll record it in your team total, and tally the results at the end. Check out our class schedule online or pick up a schedule at the front desk. The new "3500" 30 Minute classes will be on Monday and Tuesday at Ageless from 6:30-7:00pm, and at Ageless Squared on Wednesday at 7:30pm and Thursday at 7pm.
    All of our classes at both gyms are included in the contest. Also, personal training sessions with Reggie or Kevin are also counted.

    On the 57th day, the results will be announced and the feast will begin.

    For the team prize, the team that attends the most classes will win the dining gift certificate. In the event of a tie, one team will randomly be drawn as the winner.

For those just starting out, I would say start slow, just move, and when you just know you can’t take one more step or do one more rep, do 3 more. You will be amazed at how quickly you see results.
