If you like spin (and we know a lot of you do) and you like bootcamp, you’ll love Total Body Spin. Limited to just 12 members per class, Total Body Spin is our first class to incorporate the TRX trainers and spin bikes into one heart-pounding, muscle -burning 60 minute class.
Why add the the TRX trainers?
Without question, spinning is a fantastic cardiovascular exercise. It burns a lot of calories, produces a ton of sweat, and is a great cross-training tool. Plus, it’s fun. However, anything when done in excess can cause dysfunction. Sitting on a bike for 60 minutes is not immune to that problem. So by adding TRX trainers, we add a small dose of strength and flexibility training to an already GREAT cardio session.
Don’t worry. You won’t be deadlifting, squatting, or benching. All of the TRX exercises we use for this class are body weight, specifically for cycling, and will aid in weight loss. They’re functional, yet challenging. Some help fix mobility/flexibility issues caused by spending too much time in the seated position (tight hip flexors, rounded shoulders, poor t-spine extension, etc). Others add single leg and upper body strength and stability that improve cycling performance. While the majority of the exercises focus on creating a tight, toned core. What does all of that mean for you? An even better workout and most importantly, better results!
Total Body Spin will be on Wednesday nights at 6:30 in Gillespie starting January 8th. We have to do a little construction in Staunton before we can offer it there, but we hope to have it ready by late January.
