High school students 16 years of age and older can now purchase a keycard at Ageless and Ageless-Staunton that will open the doors from 6am – 10pm 7 days per week, 365 days per year. The cost of the keycard will be $10 and can be used at both locations. Starting on Oct. 1st, you can stop by the front desk to purchase a keycard.
This is something we’ve been working on for quite some time. Both gyms were created to not only give something for adults to do in the community but also kids. With school, sports, and jobs, our current staffed hours make it extremely hard for high school kids to come to the gym. We would much rather have students at Ageless and Ageless-Staunton than trying to find alternative ways to alleviate their boredom. Nothing keeps you out of trouble like 10 sets of 10 reps of squats, deadlifts, and bench presses.
Of course, with expanded hours and increased liability, we just wanted to briefly mention a few of the rules listed in the contract that can result in loss of keycard privileges.
- Only active members of Ageless ages 16 years and above can be in the gym. Any member that allows a non-member into the gym will have his/her membership revoked without refund. It is the member’s responsibility to know whether a person he/she is letting into the gym is a member or not.
- Benching and squatting is not allowed unless you have at least one of member lifting with you. SERIOUS injuries can occur when lifting alone.
- Please do not touch the radio.
- Please turn off the lights and TV’s if you’re the last person in the gym.
- Please act like you do at school. That means no cursing or vulgar language, keep your conversations to an acceptable noise level, don’t gather around machines unless you are actively using them, no horseplay, and clean up after yourself.
- Put the weights back and wipe the machines down when you finish using them.
Because this has taken us so long to get this in place and so many high school kids have asked for it, we will be extremely vigilant with regards to the above rules. We will NOT allow a couple of bad apples to ruin it for everyone. If you break one of the rules and your card is turned off, it will not be turned back on.
