Barb will be offering 3 free spin classes to members and non-members on Saturday, February 15th.  Each class will be 30 minutes, just enough time to give you a taste of why our members love spin.

Why Choose Our Classes?

It’s no secret that our classes are the foundation for our success. During our busy months, it’s not uncommon to see 50 people in a class. Even a class like Morning Madness that meets at 5am (Yes, 5 A-M) has been averaging over 40 members. We’ve hit over 70 members in our GloKick class on several occasions. If we had to guess, a little over 80% of our members attend one our classes.

However, we still haven’t convinced about 20% of our members to try out a class. So to the 20%, here are 5 reasons why you should try your first class:

1. We have something for everyone

It doesn’t matter what fitness level you are at or what type of exercise you like, we have a class for you. Like to dance? GloKick. Like a challenge and a sweat? Bootcamp. Need to relax and relieve some stress? Yoga. Training for an upcoming obstacle course? Bad Man Training. Looking for something challenging, yet feminine? Piloxing. Need to let out a little aggression while you burn a ton of calories? Boxing.  Have bad knees, but still want a workout? Spin.

2. Do more than you thought you could

There’s just something about lifting in a group that pushes you do a little more than you would if you were alone. It might be the positive atmosphere, the energy of the group, or just the fact that you don’t want to fail in front of your friends. I don’t know how many members have told us after a class that they never would have thought they would be able to do some of the things they did during the class. Yet, by the end of the class, they were shocked it was already over. The worst part of it was the worry before the class.

3. Laugh, gossip, and see some old friends while you burn calories

We literally just had a member tell us that our classes are like going to the bar to see old friends without dealing with drunks.  You’ll laugh. You’ll  gossip. You’ll see your friends. And if you’re lucky, you may even burn a few calories.

4. They’re free

All of our classes, except spin (which is included for free with 12 month memberships) are free. Better yet, you can go to either gym. So if you’re a GloKick-aholic, you can go to the class in Staunton and Gillespie.

5. Everyone is a beginner

The two most common reasons we get from members who don’t attend classes: 1) They are too advanced for me. I just started exercising. 2.) I don’t know anyone in the class. It will be awkward.

Everyone was a beginner at one time or another. The classes are designed with progressions and regressions. If you can’t do something, we don’t push you. If you need to rest longer, you’ll rest longer. That’s the reason we have instructors – for the beginners. We’re there to show you how to do the exercises correctly.

And it will literally take you less than 5 minutes to meet new friends. All of our members are extremely helpful. Our more advanced members act like instructors. We’re all in the class for the same reason – to accomplish goals as a TEAM.
