Despite the muggy and warm temperatures through the week, over 60 people joined the fun on Friday evening, July 14, to enjoy beautiful weather at the inaugural Ageless Firecracker 5K and one-mile fun run to help Staunton CUSD #6 Athletics.
A combined effort among Ageless, event sponsors and 62 participants led to the event’s success that raised $1,895 for the school district’s athletic program. Sponsors included Brian Luketich-Masinelli Real Estate, Caldieraro Dental, Russell Furniture, Staunton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Williamson Funeral Home, Brian Luketich Quality Firearms, Cross Church, Community Hospital of Staunton, Madison Communications, Staunton Chiropractic Clinic, Sullivan’s – Staunton, Thomas A. Cioni D.M.D., Max B. Mullins Mayfield’s Landscaping and donations from Donnewald Distributing, Mike Wallace and Señor Matt Larsen.
Participants started off from Ageless-Staunton promptly at 8 p.m. Runners and walkers alike enjoyed the smooth, easy course as temperatures dropped in the 70’s and the sun was disappearing as participants crossed the finish line.
