Basketball Shooting Camp – Creating the Ultimate Sharp Shooter

Basketball shooting camp at Ageless

As of 6/9/2014 Only 3 spots available

With the success of our Killer Crossover Basketball Dribbling Camp (which is still continuing and completely separate from this camp), we’re adding an additional camp on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm that just focuses on proper shooting form and mechanics.

This past weekend I had the privilege of attending Drew Hanlen’s Pure Sweat Basketball Skills Clinic in St. Louis. Drew is one of the premier basketball skills trainers, with clients ranging from some of the top NBA guys to McDonald’s High School All Americans. If there was one saying he repeated over and over, it was, “If you can shoot you can play. And the only way you can shoot is to correct, perfect, and rep.”

This camp is built around correcting, perfecting, and repping the perfect shot.  Like the Crossover Camp, it will be boring, tedious, and at times frustrating. In fact, a handful of drills won’t even include a basket. Bad habits aren’t broken overnight. Poor shooting form is no different. Thus patience and focus are mandatory.

The Details:

When: Wednesday evenings starting July 2nd 7:30-8:30pm, 4 weeks long (4 sessions)

Where: Ageless in Gillespie

Who: 7th grade – high school girls and boys

Cost: $35 for 4 weeks

Limits: Although we said we were limiting the Crossover Camp to 12 players, we actually took 16. This camp will be limited to 12 because we can have no more than 4 kids at a basket.

Due Date: Spots are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. You must have your form and money turned in to reserve a spots. No e-mail or telephone reservations. Forms are due by June 30th.

Forms: You can download the form by clicking here: 4th Quarter Training Basketbal Shooting Camp, or you can pick it up at the front desk at Ageless in Gillespie or Ageless Squared in Staunton. You can mail it in or drop it off at either location.

Note: The above downloaded form will have the previous dates/times on it. Ignore them. This camp will be on WEDNESDAY evenings 7:30-8:30pm in July.

What’s Included:

  • Four 60 minute workouts
  • Shot analysis including still shots and video. See an example of the still shots by clicking here: Sample Still Shot Analysis – Setup
  • Videos of corrective drills that are specific to the athlete’s shot mechanics
