Member of the Month July 2013 – Tracy Petersen

tracy petersen member of the month

Each month at Ageless we highlight one of our members that has put extraordinary effort into his or her fitness to such a level that their energy is contagious and spreads to others throughout the gym.

This month we are highlighting Tracy Petersen as our member of the month. We asked Tracy a few questions about her fitness and workout routine. These are her responses:

What got you interested in fitness?

I’ve always played sports and still play softball and volleyball. However, I realized this wasn’t enough to keep/get me healthy and in shape. I decided to join the gym (after thinking about it for 3 months) to try to eliminate some or all of the meds I take for diabetes.

How do you find/make time to get your workouts in?

I’m on my own so it’s very easy for me to come to the gym whenever I want. Because I’m off during the summer, I really don’t have any excuses not to make it to the gym. It may get a little harder once schools starts.

What tip(s) would you offer someone who is just starting out?

Walk in the door and join the gym. Just getting started was the hardest part for me. Once you join, you will be welcomed by some great people. You will also feel so much better, not only physically but mentally, once you start working out.

What is your current workout routine?

My current workout includes Morning Madness with Regie, going to as many spinning classes that I can get in, and I’ve been trying to get to Glo-kick and Pete’s Small Group Training.

In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of exercising?

The biggest benefit for me is that I have been able to reduce some of my medication already. Hopefully, I will be able to completely get off insulin.

Have you seen good results? If so could you go into detail about them?

Yes, I’ve seen good results. The contests keep me motivated since I am so competitive. I’m not losing weight like I want but I am losing inches and I feel so much better.

How has being a member at Ageless helped you on your fitness journey?

If I hadn’t joined Ageless, I wouldn’t be doing anything on my own. Being part of the gym family, got me motivated and keeps me motivated.
